If your wedding is going to be a day of beauty and something to remember, your choice of flowers is important, for they need to compliment you and enhance your beauty, rather than taking the attention away from you. Too much colour could be confusing and distracting, but a simple colour scheme on the other hand, can be like the icing on the cake, completing “the look” and making it complete.
Take your time to view some sample bouquets and decide whether you want a large bouquet or just a simple bunch of flowers. If your flowers are to be decorated with ribbons, choose a colour that matches the bridesmaids dresses and the grooms tie. Look at photos to get ideas and make sure that whatever you choose, you allow plenty of time to get it delivered.
Decide whether you want fresh flowers or silk ones. Silk flowers will last for many years and you could use them for other occasions or give them away. Real flowers will of course be extra special and give a fragrance as well as a natural look.
Think about what certain colours mean to you, what they symbolize and whether they are already being used for the day. Many brides choose red roses, because they symbolize love, romance, mystery and passion, perfect for your wedding day.
Say it with flowers and allow the freshness of natural beauty to lead you on into a beautiful and fruitful life together.

Make time for a cup of tea
No matter how calm and organized you might feel now, when it comes to the Big Day, believe me, you will greatly benefit from having someone at hand who will support you. Ideally it will be the head bridesmaid for the bride and the best man for the bridegroom, but if they are not able to provide this, then choose someone else, such as a good friend or even your mother.
During those many moments when you are busy thinking about the order of the day, you will need someone else to bring you that much needed cup of tea, a tissue and a shoulder to cry on or to be ready to take a problem off your hands and sort it for you. Someone who will be looking out for you and notice when you are in need of a smile of encouragement, a firm assurance that everyone will be fine or an extra bit of affirmation. Every parent looks forward to the day when their son or daughter announces their intention to get married, especially if the prospective son or daughter-in-law is someone they get on well with. It’s a little different however when the wedding is taking place many miles away. There will be many hurdles to get over, such as being able to be involved in the preparations, understanding and accepting a different way of doing things, having the money to get there and not having had the chance to get to know their new fiancee and their family and country. These are dilemmas we are facing now, as our son is intending to marry his girlfriend next year. To go to Korea would be a dream holiday for anyone living in the UK. For us, it is something we cannot miss and yet at present cannot afford. There will have to be a Plan B a bit nearer to the time if it appears necessary. Read the rest of this entry »

Fashion shoes for a special day
When the big day arrives and you are walking in your shoes down the aisle, you want yours to be fashion shoes that are nonetheless comfortable and affordable. You don’t want the hassle of having to change them after a few hours due to discomfort, so choose wisely. After all, your feet will be carrying you step by step throughout your wonderful day. Weddings can be tiring affairs, especially if your day is so lovely that you want it to go on for ever. It therefore pays to look after your feet and make them just as much a special part of you for your wedding fashion as the rest of you. How about treating them to a foot spa the day before or have a pamper wedding shower with your friends and pamper yourselves from head to toe.
Before the big day, look at a selection of wedding fashion and shoes to get an idea of what you want, crystal shoes for example, that will make you shine. Go to

The thing about getting married is the significant lasting memory that it creates, marking an important day in your life. It’s not the event itself that makes it so important, but rather it’s the stake in the ground that such a contract forms. Is it any wonder therefore that so much time and preparation takes place beforehand. We are declaring the importance of this marriage and wanting everyone to know the road we plan to walk from now on. No longer a road of singleness, but one where we walk together and value each others opinions and feelings just as much as our own. When two people are yoked together, if one pulls away it causes the other tension and pain and inhibits them from going forwards. Often the strain is too much and they have to stop. If you decide to invite children to your wedding, the question will be, how to keep them occupied. After all, no-one wants them running around causing a disturbance and spoiling your special day. Children who are bored are more likely to cause trouble, so you will keep everyone happier by providing some kind of entertainment for them. Young children are unlikely to appreciate or even understand the speeches, which can often take some time, so this could be a good time to take them off into a separate room and occupy them with any of suggestions such as these: Read the rest of this entry »

When you decide to get married can depend on several factors, all of which need to be considered before setting your wedding date.
I remember when we initially asked our vicar whether he was free to marry us on a date 6 months ahead, he informed us quite seriously that he had a funeral booked on that day!! Some things just can’t be planned ahead of time!
Here are some things to consider first: Read the rest of this entry »

Love is so
ft
With a heart that is tender and pliable
Not stubborn, but willing to change
A soft, safe place to rest
Where you can be yourself.
Love is free
Free from bitterness and strife
From the past that would block the entrance
To your heart
Free to flow with new life,
New beginnings, new hope.
Love is strong
It fights for what it believes in
It does not give up
It brings stability and consistency
Standing firm in the face of fear
It remains when all around
Would desert and disappear
But this love remains.

Everyone wants to know the secrets for a happy marriage, that lasts forever. Is there a formula, or is it different for every couple? I would say it’s a bit of both, but largely, because men are men and women are women, it’s often because we misunderstand the opposite sex that we get into trouble. So here are my tips and please add your own in the comments section below, for we can all learn from each other!
- Never assume that your partner should know something, if they haven’t been told. Many false expectations occur when we are waiting for the expected surprise which never happens! Something that might seem obvious to you, might not even have entered their head.
- Don’t take each for granted. Keep the love and excitement alive by sending or giving each other love notes, spontaneous demonstrations of love or gifts. If you are both busy people, book up a regular time together, away from children, phones and other distractions.
- Be slow to get angry and quick to forgive. Read the rest of this entry »

Color is an important component of any public event, for it transmits feelings and messages. It can lift something or do the opposite.
Your wedding day is one of the most important in your life and you want to ensure that it ends up being just that. When you look back at the pictures, they will exhibit an array of color. How will you choose which color to utilize?
- Decide how far you want to use one color. Will it include the dresses, cake and table decorations?
- Think about whether your chosen color will suit anyone who will be wearing it, especially if it is a large amount near their face. Forcing a bridesmaid into a shocking pink dress might not be doing anyone a favor! Read the rest of this entry »
